VEDES, Europe’s largest toy shopping group, and in.webs continue to expand digital shopping solutions, covering virtually all relevant online channels.
The VEDES digitalisation campaign centres around a virtual extension of the shelf space at the point of sale (in-shop solution for terminals) as well as around the platforms vedes.com and babys-world.de and online stores for VEDES retailers. The solution is complemented by integration with the online marketplace eBay and a click-and-collect function (where customers order online and pick up their purchases in-store).
Click & Collect
in.webs was highly involved in the conception and development of a modern, global Click & Collect System for IKEA.
We were mainly responsible for the technical development and integration of the core application. The system can be used by B2C customers as well as by B2B customers. Products can be ordered online and picked up at a local shop or a pickup-point afterwards. Furthermore, it is possible to get the goods delivered at home as well.
The solution is now rolled out in over 23 countries and underlies a constant development progress, where new features are added. Highlights of the system are the handling of the different country specific local legal requirements, handling of differences in the local tax handling and the handling of different time zones. The fluid integration into existing systems and services, as well as the multilingual configuration setup, make the application a very special Click & Collect solution in the sphere of eCommerce systems.
in.webs developed and implemented a so-called planning calendar for IKEA Germany. This calendar, which is designed for redundancy and high availability, is used by IKEA stores and the IKEA headquarters to coordinate and handle customer appointments for individual planning sessions.
Whether booking manually or automatically via an API – scheduling an appointment is a breeze after completing a set of questions tailored to the individual customer. The system provides automated reminders, cancellation functions and complex statistics, but its functionalities are virtually unlimited.
